Children come into foster care because of issues of abuse and neglect. In order to keep them safe, they often must leave behind everything familiar - family, friends, school, bed, clothing and personal belongings. Children recognize the gap between their experiences and the stability and nurturing other children receive.
FAFS has many programs which provide supports to help "Bridge the Gap" for children in foster care. From backpacks to literacy, scholarships to opportunity grants, these programs help to provide the many extras these vulnerable children need in order to thrive.
It is said that it takes a community to raise a child. Not everyone can be a foster parent, but everyone can help. Our family has experienced the support of so many of you over the years. We are walking to help provide that same support to children and foster families across our state.
Thank you for your support.
