Support & Training
Foster and Adoptive Family Services (FAFS) provides support and training to resource parents in New Jersey. These families are the safety net for children who have been removed from their biological families due to abuse and neglect. Without these families, who volunteer their time and homes, children in foster care would have no place to live.
Imagine that scenario. A state caseworker goes to a home to remove a child and has no place to take that child. There’s no family who is willing to care for that child. Fortunately, that is not the case in New Jersey. There are families who volunteer to do this – when the call comes at 2 a.m., when the child is traumatized due to the situation that caused his removal, and even when the family was preparing to leave for vacation the next day!
Resource parents (foster, adoptive and kinship) answer that call every day. They answer it with grace and humility because they consider themselves to be ordinary people, but we know they do extraordinary things daily.
We invite you to donate so FAFS can expand its support and training to these amazing families who truly are the heroes of the child welfare system. They do more than provide a safety net to these children; they provide loving, safe homes where these children can grow and flourish during a very difficult time in their lives.
The Foster and Adoptive Family Services Foundation is a 501(c)(3)charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.
